Sold to a terrific person. This is a surfriders print. Incidently, while it has no labels any longer, this is the same striked print as the Made in California Hawaiian shirt. I have that shirt also !

Hawai'i Driving: You lolo?

  • Oct. 1st, 2006 at 6:29 PM

This is an excerpt of the confessions of hawai'i drivers. The full article was published in the Honolulu Advertiser.  source link here

DRIVING CRITICS 'FESS UP TO OWN BAD HABITS

We gave these Hawai'i drivers a chance to vent about their pet driving peeves. Now, it's their turn to 'fess up about their own roadway indiscretions.

"I weave through traffic, and I scare old people who drive in the left lane. And the right lane. Actually, all the lanes. I also catch up to bad drivers and look at them. It's not really stink eye, but I do do the stare-down."   27 yrs old, Palolo  ha! How many of us can relate to this

"My personal habit is that I listen to the radio too loud. If something is too loud, it interferes with you hearing what's happening outside."  55 yrs old, Kane'ohe

"I'm too nice. I'm one of those people who let people go before I go. I'd rather let them go than speed up and get into an accident." 22 yrs old, Papakolea

"I purposely don't use my blinkers because, in Hawai'i, when people see you with your blinker on, they speed up to block you. Sometimes it's a stupid, macho thing where they don't want you to be ahead of them, and sometimes it's just to mess with you. So, I just keep an eye on the lane, and when it's safe, I go. And I 'shaka' afterward if someone is behind me." 34 yrs old, Nu'uanu

Made by Hawaiian surf
Cotton , looks like barkcloth when worn but it's smooth and terrific for this summertime luau or pool party
I used one of my scarves to give it a fitted kimono belt look to it, it's doesn't come with the scarf but you can recreate that look easily with a long scarf. Let me know if you need one I will include it.
Circa late 1960's / early 1970's
